Sheikh Abu Muhammad Abdul Kareem Abdul Rahman Bava son of Sheikh Mohammed son of Beerankutty Al Malaibari Al Hindi was born on July 8, 1946 in a place called Beypur from the city of Calicut, Kerala. He grew up and acquired primary education there in. He travelled at the age of 10 with his family to a village named Kodampuzha, his father’s native place. He studied religious knowledge from his father at a mosque in Mavoor, for a period of 5 years and later from Sheikh Beeran Koya Moulavi at a mosque in Kodampuzha for 2 years. He completed his higher studies at Darul uloom College, Vazhakkad as he disciplined there to the great scholar, Sheikh Ahmed Kanniyyath who was known as Sheikhul Mashaikh, teacher of teachers and heart of Islamic professors in Malabar likewise he was the chief of Sunni scholars’ Council in Kerala.
Sheikh Abdul Rahman Bava Al Malaibari stayed in Darul Uloom College, Vazhakkad as a student for a period of 5 years. After the completion of the course he came back to his village and lived spending his days there in studying, teaching, research and writing in Islamic point of views. He serves the society now directing at the helm of a famous Islamic institution called Darul Ma’arif Islamic Centre, Calicut, Kerala, as professor in Islamic Dawa College under the centre, and as General Secretary of the same centre for last 30 years .
Sheikh Abdul Rahman Bava Almalaibari became famous with his invaluable services to the Arabic language and Islamic science. He contributed for many years by preparing Arabic books for government schools in Kerala as a member of writers’ Board at a time. He worked as a member of inspectors under the board of inspection another time. He presented commendable services in authoring different Islamic books in Arabic language for primary, secondary and Higher Secondary Madrassa classes run by all India Sunni Educational Board which is supervised by All India Sunni Scholars Organization in India and he assumes an honourable seat in it.
He served as an Islamic speaker for 10 years at a mosque in Ramanattukara in the city of Calicut, where he was famous for his Islamic(qutba) speeches on Fridays without taking speech books or notes in his hand. After that he served as a scholarly speaker for Friday Quthuba in a mosque at Chunkam, near the city of Feroke, for 5 years. He presented Islamic lectures in a number of sessions addressing various subjects likewise he wrote in different occasions in Malayalam Islamic magazines many valuable essays. But he is more known with his invaluable and useful Islamic works in Arabic language than his works in mother tongue, Malayalam.
He has authored for more than one hundred Islamic books now, Interpretation of Holy Quran in the name of Taiseerul Jalalaini in 18 volumes(intended to complete 30 valumes) being his masterpiece after Sayyed ul Bashar, Al Islam and Qulasathul Fiqhil Islamiyya in three volumes. He was honoured with the title of Qalamul Islam(Pen of Islam) by Indian Grand Mufti Shaik Abubacker Ahmed at the time of releasing ceremony of his Hundredth book named ‘Al Islam’.
Some of his precious works were published by International Publications like Darul Basaer in Cairo(1-Yanabeeul khina(Springs of Fortune- an explanation of the beautiful names of Almighty Allah/published in 2012. 2-Rizqul Asfiya(Food of the Pious) in three volumes published in 2012. 3- Qulasathul Fiqhil Islamiyya(An abridged version of Islamic Fiqh) in 2021.4- Seerathu Sayyidil Basher( Biography of The Leader of Humanity),first edition in 2008 and fourth edition in 2010.Darul Kotob Al Ilmiyya in Bairuth-Labanan published Sahabuzzulal(The Clouds of Rain)-an Explanation of Book of Questions-poems-dogmas by Hafiz Jalaludheen Assuyuthi in 2020. Dubai Auqaf published his famous book Abul Basher( Father of Humanity). Darusswalih in Cairo published one of his varaity works on miscellaneous Islamic subjects in question and answer form titled Limaza(What for?) in 2021.
In 2017,2018 and 2019 Darul Maarif Publication showcased an exclusive stall for the author’s only book archive in the third largest International Book Fair held in Sharjah. Thaiseer Jalalaini volume 13 and Al Mar’athu fee Dhilalil Islam(Women in the Shadow of Islam) the author’s latest works then were released in this book fair. He received recognitions in different ocasions.
